Chinese people always call themselves “Descendants of Yan and Huang”, a title related to the legendary Huangdi (the Yellow Emperor) and Yandi. Huangdi, Yandi and Chiyou were three tribal leaders in ancient China.
Jiuzhaigou
The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is located in the northern part of Sichuan Province, in the transitional zone from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Sichuan Basin. It is a valley with a total length of more than 50 kilometers, and an average elevation of over 2,000 meters. There are nine Tibetan villages in this valley, hence its name (the valley of nine villages).
China has a vast territory of complex terrain. There are high-altitude, large plateaus plateaus, tall and rugged mountains, flat and broad plains, low and rolling hills, and large and small basins surrounded by mountains and low-lying areas.
The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation and bears witness to the origin of the Chinese civilization. The Yellow River Basin is also one of the origins of human civilization.
