About HanziPeek

HanziPeek is a specialized Chinese structure service for AI and education platforms. We provide precise decomposition of semantic and phonetic components, as well as word-formation patterns, returning verifiable, source-traceable structured data to help platforms reduce hallucination and improve explainability.

We are not a general-purpose LLM, and we are not a full learning system. We focus on one thing: making the structure of Chinese characters and words clear and reliable.

Verifiable — results are reproducible, never fabricated
Callable — standard API and tool-calling formats
Low-friction — one-line widget embed supported

Research background

HanziPeek's structural classification (the "Chu Three-Books" system referenced throughout this API) builds on Dr. John Chu's character research, developed over 16 years. In December 2024, this broader body of work — the "Chinese Visual Key" input method — was presented at a global launch event in Dubai.

Scholars including Professor Zhang Xiping (Beijing Language and Culture University) and Professor Pan Wenguo (East China Normal University) spoke at the event, describing the work as a significant contribution to Chinese character research and global Chinese-language education.
