Find any Arabic word by its shapes — then see its root and its mold
Arabic words are built from a three-consonant root (the meaning) poured into a pattern (the grammatical role): ك ت ب + مَفْعَل = مَكْتَب office. Tap the letter shapes you can see, find the word, and the card shows its root, its pattern, its whole word family and sentences. Zero reading knowledge required.
240 high-frequency roots · 35 patterns · words analysed from a real corpus · learning cards via the same API (variant=ar) · right-to-left handled for you.
How to start — five minutes with Visual Arabic
1 · A word = root + mold
Almost every Arabic word is three consonants (the root = meaning) poured into a pattern (the mold = role). Learn one root and you unlock a whole family; learn one pattern and you can read every word made with it.
2 · Find a word by its shapes
Letters change shape at the start, middle and end of a word — and they are grouped by skeleton (a bowl with dots, a hook, a loop…). Tap the shapes you see and where they sit; the candidates shrink until your word appears.
3 · Read the card
Root letters are purple and underlined, pattern letters green, prefixes orange. The card shows the equation root + pattern = word, the meaning, the whole word family and sentences. Tap 🔊 (or 🐢 for slow).
4 · Then switch to Root + pattern
Once you know a few roots, pick one and see only the molds it really uses; or open the Family matrix: a row is one root, a column is one pattern. Everyday Arabic gives phrases to say today — tap any underlined word to see how it is built.
