In central China, there is a high mountain range that runs east and west — Qinling (or the Qinling Ridge). It runs from Gansu province in the west, passes through Shaanxi, and reaches Henan in the east. It has a total length of more than 1,500 kilometers and a width that ranges from ten kilometers to more than 200 kilometers.
