The words you already say — their Chinese characters — and what each character is made of
About 60% of Vietnamese vocabulary is Sino-Vietnamese: every syllable maps to one Chinese character (học sinh = 学生, quốc gia = 国家). Paste a Vietnamese passage; each Sino-Vietnamese word shows its characters syllable by syllable, and each character opens into its components, the twelve imageries and a nine-grid diagram.
Hán-Việt readings from Unicode Unihan · dictionary words aligned syllable by syllable · components and imageries shared with the Clavis Sinica method · anything the model adds is marked “pending review”.
How to start — five minutes
1 · Paste some Vietnamese
A news item, a lesson, a message. Other languages are translated into Vietnamese first. You can also take a photo or speak.
2 · Look at the Sino-Vietnamese words
Each one carries its characters. Tap it: syllables and characters pair up in the same colour, with pinyin and both pronunciations.
3 · Open a character
How it was formed, its components and where they sit in the nine-grid, the imagery, and why it means what it means.
4 · Keep it
“+ Add to review” on any word or character card; cards come back after 1 / 3 / 7 / 30 days.
